We take pride in delivering world-class service to all of our customers. Read what some of our satisfied clients have said about us!
"Gary Hawley has been my farrier for several years now. He has always been willing to work with my tender footed TB mare. As well as, my tough footed TB gelding and then there was the straight up and down Quarter Horse. I could go on and on about how much he has been willing to work with the different horses I have put in front of him but his most difficult challenge came when my tender footed mare was injured and required surgery. She had approximately 1/4 of her hoof removed by the surgeon and a lacerated coffin joint sheath.
Gary went above and beyond assisting me with shoes, pads and foam supports to aid in her recovery. She is slowly working her way back to 100% and I'm so thankful that I have a farrier (and friend) that listens to me AND my horse to figure out the best way to help them move better. My horses and I are thouroughly happy with the balanced feet that Gary consistently produces."NIKKI CORRELL ~ Scottsdale Arizona
"Gary came out to our farm and met with our Veterinarian. After radiographs and discussion they came up with a plan. Gary's dedication to our horses program is the reason she has made a full recovery. We are very happy we called Gary and decided to make him our Farrier and now we call him our friend !"Blair Warner ~ Batavia Ohio
"WE LOVE GARY!! Our 26 year old Quarter horse gelding was lame from previous faulty farrier services. It got to the point we could not even ride him, he was too sore. He was so tender on his feet.Gary fixed his feet and they are healthier than ever before. We are very grateful and to have Gary as our farrier. We have our horse back in riding shape!"Courtney Lovelace ~ Gilbert Arizona
My name is Rita and I have a Nevada Mustang named Beauty. She is 19 years old.
I first want to say that she has no monetary value, but her spirit for life really came through recently and I have a greater appreciation for what her “value” really is. I also have a greater appreciation for finding a professional like Gary . His knowledge, patience and ability to understand a horse reaches far beyond a horseshoer.
Over two years ago Beauty became lame with severe founder and the bones were greatly affected. But she would recover, then lame again every few months. I went through about three shoers. She absolutely was in so much pain that they really did not want to deal with her and I do not believe they had the patience.
Thank goodness for business cards at Marley’s feed store. I found Gary, Beauties’ savior.
On this particular day, Beauty was really not doing well. She had lost over I would say at least 30% of her body weight. She spent most of her time lying down so she was developing terrible pressure sores on her hips and legs. She shivered when she stood. She walked on her tippy-toes and could only manage a few feet of distance each time. She really appeared to me and the veterinarian to be losing the battle and the needle was filled to allow her to go to a better place. But,
Garycame just in time to say he saw something in her eyes that said “Don’t do this yet, I am not ready to give up life’s pleasures.” He pleaded Beauty’s case and we went forward with putting on what we call her “Nike” tennis shoes.
I won’t try to explain how these special shoes work or why they are improving my horses’ quality of life because I am not a professional. I will say that she has regained her quality, weight and attitude. She is still improving little by little. And we know that she has a long recovery. But, she is recovering.
Beauties’ spirit saved her life and somehow she was able to communicate that to Gary .
I would say the most important act in this whole story is;
Gary got the message!
Beauty and I will always be grateful to Gary.
They say sometimes animals show up in your life for a reason, and for Beauty to be in mine is definitely a lesson or two. But, I believe people show up in an animal’s life for reasons too. And for Beauty that would beGary .
There is no doubt in my mind that I can trust Gary ’s knowledge to make the best choices for any horse regardless of the situation. I have learned a lot.
Sincerely,
Rita Lewis ~ Chandler Arizona
Five years ago I purchased my first horse, a 13 year old mare. I learned to care for horses and learned to ride. I started competing at local horse shows and gymkhanas and rode the desert trails. My riding was hampered for the first four years by constant soundness issues with my mare. My first farrier said it was her breed / conformation that caused the on-again, off-again lameness. The next farrier and the one after that blamed her conformation as the cause of soundness issues. Multiple vet exams never pin-pointed a cause.
After a shoeing that left both my gelding and my mare lame for a month, I decided it was time to find a well respected farrier with an established clientele. My veterinarian recommended Gary Hawley. Gary first shod my mare in January of 2011. Gary took his time shoeing the horses and got to know them. My mare was perfectly sound after the shoeing. She stayed sound. I was able to ride her daily. We practiced our competition events. We improved in our skills as we were able to practice. We trail ride. We hauled to out of state shows. My mare continues to be sound. The mare is now 18 years old. This year, she completed 7 Registers of Merits (ROMs) and achieved her Versatility Championship. She has not taken a lame step all year with consistent workouts, western pleasure competition, dressage practice, speed events and the difficulty of the Arizona desert trail rides. We will be competing at the World show this year, all because Gary shoes my horses. Thank you Gary!Sonja Berry - Gilbert, Arizona
